Not My Child!

                                          Back again with a page made with a child that isn't my own.
                                                  I think this is only the 3rd time in 400+ pages,
                                           that I didn't use a child that was ripped from my own womb
                                                                              (3 C-sections. lol)

                                                                            Let's take a look back,
                                            the 1st page was of Baby Jack, my friend Gale's little boy.
                                                                      He is going into college now,
                                                                       kidding, only kindergarten ;)

                                                        And the 2nd is one of my favorite pages ever.
                                           One of my simplest and one of the most scraplifted as well.
                                                  It was a swap I did with my Write.Click.Scrapbook
                                           and Simple Scrapbooks magazine friend Elizabeth Dillow.
                          Her middle daughter Gracie reminds me SO much of my middle daughter Megan,
                                         I felt the pull to scrap a page about her and I am so glad I did:

                                                      It makes me sad that I didn't get into scrapbooking
                                                                      when my girls were small.
                                                        While I have always loved taking photographs,
                                   my cameras of choice when they were young, left a lot to be desired,
                                                                      a.k.a. disposable cameras.
                                                                                       :(
                                   Thankfully, my husband's family is not only freakishly good looking,
                                       but there are so many of them and some are still young enough
                                         to have babies and small, adorable children for me to scrap.
                                          I found this photo from last year of my little niece Jessica
                                   and mixed together some Project Life cards (at Hobby Lobby now!),
                                        some tiny punched butterflies, glittered letters and sequins.
                                                                          How cute is she???

                          

                                                    I have been so busy editing hundreds of photos,
                                       planning for Megan's Sweet 16 party (11 days and counting!),
                                my mother's, husband's, baby girl's and nephew's upcoming birthdays,
                                that I still have the last 3 winner's of my giveaway still here at home.
                     This was why I knew I wanted to get the packages out before my time was limited.
                                      So LYNNBOBSCRAP, ARI VEGA-MACIAS and MYNETTE,
                                                                   I haven't forgot about you,
                                      I will be sending your boxes out when my life is back to normal :)

As Prom-ised

As I told you yesterday,

Megan had a great time at Junior prom.

She is only a sophomore,

but because she is now single,

she was asked by her friend in that grade.

I think she looked beautiful,

I'll tell you, almost 16 never looked like this for me. lol

Everyone meets down at the waterfront to take photos,

I mean hundreds of prom-goers, friends and family.

Besides, she was asked to Senior Prom next month,

The Best Of Friends

                                                                     Megan's prom was amazing!

Prom # 1

                                                                       Today is an exciting day!
                                           Megan is attending Junior Prom tonight (with a good friend)
                                                                            Manicure = done.
                                                                             Pedicure = done
                                                                            Spray tan = done
                                                    Today afterschool she is getting her hair done
                                                                   and then it is picture time!
                                                                             I cannot wait :)
                                             Her dress is red and sparkly, she is going to be beautiful.
                                      I have been going through photos for her upcoming Sweet 16 party
                                        and found the last time she was dressed in red from head to toe:

                                                       Ok, so she was a 1 1/2 year old devil for Halloween,
                                                                      but she looks good in red, right? ;)

Baby Face

                                                          Saturday was National Scrapbooking Day,
                                                     there is a national day for everything isn't there?
                                                    Because of that fact, I spent the day in my studio
                                                     and found a page I started over 2 1/2 years ago.
                                                                It was a photo of Ryann from 1994,
                                                                I think she was about 6 months old,
                                                           and I swear she had the cutest baby face.
                                                 I could not go out of my house and not be stopped
                                                                 multiple times by random people
                                                                remarking just how cute she was :)
                                                                          God, I miss those days...

                                                          I have sent 13 of the giveaway winnings out,
                                                   I have boxed the last 6 and am sending them out today!

Project Life Cards

                                                             While putting together the giveaway prizes,
                                                                      I was able to make another page.
                                       Hmmm...this purging of supplies has certainly helped my scrap funk,
                                                                                   who'd a thunk?

                                                               While I am not doing the Project life craze
                                                                  that has taken over the scrapping world,
                                        I do love the cards that are sold and have bought many from Michaels,
                                                                        that go with doing Project Life,
                                                                       their line is called Recollections.
                                                                         I couldn't find a photo online.

                                                          I have bought the Me and My Big Ideas cards,
                                                                 which can also be bought at Michaels,
                                                                              here is just one pack,
                                                 I may or may not have bought 4 other packs as well. lol

                                                                I was really happy to find the Pebbles cards
                                                                  which I found at Hobby Lobby last week,
                                                                                     bought these 2:

                                                                  They give me instant inspiration.

                                                     Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway!

Give Back Giveaway

I have had this blog now for almost 4 and a 1/2 years.
When I started scrapping a little over 6 years ago
I had no desire to blog, actually I never even thought about it.
I just loved to scrap and had a nice time posting my pages
on a couple of scrap galleries.
One of those scrap galleries,
was through a well-known magazine called Simple Scrapbooks.
I believe it was there that the editors had noticed my work
and actually asked me to become one of the contributing designers
in the magazine. I thought I had died and gone to scrap heaven!
Sadly, right before my term started, the magazine ceased publication
because of the poor economy.
The editors had asked the new designers to all have blogs,
so this blog, clean and simple. was born.
Even though I never fulfilled my dream,
I kept the blog and found out I really enjoyed it.
Right around the time when I first started posting,
my then 15 yr old daughter had just finished chemo
for her first bout with bone cancer.
This blog (and scrapping about her battle)
were two of the reasons I didn't go absolutely crazy.
They were both so cathartic for me.
I had met (through this blog and online)
some of the nicest, caring women who prayed
for my daughter's recovery after a second battle with cancer.
I had many readers from all over the world reading my blog,
it was so heartwarming to read all the lovely comments
left by some of the nicest people I have never met :)
Fast forward to now:
my daughter is healthy and cancer-free now going on 2 1/2 years,
and this blog has seen better days, but I wanted to give back-
for all the positivity, prayers and love I was given during those difficult times.
I started cleaning out my scraproom recently and thought there
is a way through scrapbooking that I can give back.
So this giveaway was born.
