You Lift Me Up

Good morning!
Anyone have a shovel?
We woke up to a blizzard here this morning!
And it amazes me when I look around and
it looks like a scene out of the movie
"Dr. Zhivago", so breathtakingly gorgeous.
But don't get me wrong, I hate snow.

Today over at Write.Click.Scrapbook
we were asked to lift another member's
Febuary gallery page.
I chose the ever-talented Moon Ko.
I have wanted to get down on paper
my feelings about #1 and
just how much she has shaped my life
by being "My First":



I think I might make a page about #2 and #3
using this same design.
Thanks Moon, for the inspiration :)

Has anyone out there
actually seen the movie "Dr.Zhivago"?
Might just be a perfect way to spend today,
while being snowed in!

W.C.S. Swap

When I signed up last week
for a swap with a fellow
Write.Click.Scrapbook. member,
I was so excited to learn that the
Elizabeth Dillow would be my swap partner.
For those of you that don't know her,
she is one of those women
who when they create a layout,
they leave a little piece of their heart
and soul on the paper.
Throw in the fact that she has 3 of the most
adorable girls I have ever seen.
(That's high praise coming from this mom of 3 girls)
Anyway, I asked her if I could use a photo
of her middlest, Gracie.
For some reason, I am always drawn to her,
she has such an expressive face.
Imagine my suprise when I realized,
I had some patterned paper that matched
Gracie's dress perfectly.
Be still my heart!

A Total Ham

Erin's school play was a huge success!
She had been talking about getting
a speaking role for her 4th grade play
since she was in the 1st grade.
And speak she did!
She was SO adorable and funny in her role.
So many people approached her after each show,
that she started saying,
"Here comes another one!",
meaning here comes another compliment. lol
You have to know her,
she's such a funny kid,
with the quirkiest of personalities.

Playing Favorites

They asked us over at Write.Click.Scrapbook
to make a page chronicling easy ways
to scrapbook your year.
I asked my 3 girls to list some of their favorite
TV shows, movies, foods, drinks, singers,
memories, books & hobbies
of the past year and this is what I came up with:



It was easily designed
and I am hoping I will use it
every year to see just how much things change
or just how much they stay the same.

Somethings Gotta Give...

...and it looks like my blog was the one to suffer.

This past week has wiped me out.
My #3 had her elementary school's musical
this past weekend and I volunteer to take the photos
and make photoboards for the show nights.
So my life is all about shooting, editing and deleting
over 700 photos for the past 7 days.
There is very little housework done,
as little laundry as we can survive on
and a whole lot of take-out dining eaten.
All I kept saying to my daughters and husband was...
"This is the last time, just be patient!"
Because #3 goes into middle school next year and
my services will no longer be needed to this extent.
It was THE cutest production to watch,
but we have in our midst
a little hambone
who sparkled in every scene she was in.
I laughed outloud
and then cried to myself
when I realized a piece of her childhood is ending.

So there's been no scrapping done either,
I am off to wade through the mountain of laundry,
collect the hoards of dust bunnies that multiplied
and cook some nice Chicken parm,
because even I missed my home cooking.
