There's No Fool, Like An April Fool

Happy April 1st!
#3 has been plotting different ways
to prank #2 for the past week.
Oh, to be 9 again :)

You know what a new month means?
Yes, a new gallery over at
Write.Click.Scrapbook
The theme this month is connections.
Since having children,
I have always been fascinated
with which child looks like
my husband or myself.
And with #1, she has always
taken after his side of the family,
but never as much as when
they were both around 11 yrs old.
I think they could pass for twins
Don't you think so too?:

Have a prank-filled April Fool's Day,
I know I will! ;)

Help! I Need Somebody!

It's Monday and it's back to work for me :(
Oh how nice it has been hanging out at home
not having to be people's slave
while serving them meals.
Wait, that's what I do at home
and I don't get paid for it here.
Gotta rethink this one...

So, like I wrote last week,
I am showcasing my scraproom next week on the
Write.Click.Scrapbook blog,
and I bought this frame for the wall from Ikea
in which I want to put something into.
A song lyric, a cute saying, poem, quote, phrase...
I just don't know what I want,
that's where YOU come in.
I need your help!
If everyone who visited
could leave a comment for what they think
I should put into the frame
because I have some very creative
and inspiring blog readers, doncha know?
If you are the chosen one,
hundreds, heck maybe even thousands of people,
will see YOUR brilliant idea!
Whaddaya say?

And I finally have made part 2 of the 3 pages
inspired by Moon Ko,
remember "My First" with #1 as the focus.
Well, here is #2's page,
I love this photo of her :)

So, in the immortal words of the Beatles.
"Won't you please, please help me?"
Thanks and have a great day!

This And That

Happy Friday!
It is Friday, isn't it?
I have been a cleaning/organizing fool
for the past 3 days!
I went into every drawer
in my scraproom
and everything is newly labeled
and organized.
I had my husband spray so many white frames black
and now I put all my favorite photos in them.
It feels sooooo good.
Why can't I care
about of the rest of my house as much?
Oh yeah, in less than 2 weeks
I will be showcasing my studio
on the Write.Click.Scrapbook blog
and that was enough to motivate me!

Tonight is Mommy/Daughter date night with this one:

We're thinking a little chinese buffet
capped off with "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"
washed down with popcorn and raisinets!

I was a little weepy yesterday,
said "Bon Voyage!" to this one:

My brain keeps returning to 2 yrs ago,
remembering how sick she was
and now how healthy and happy she is!
She deserves this trip so much :*)

As for this one:

She is still on a high from her show.
There was a such a nice write-up
in our local paper,
it might have said she was "fantastic"
in her role and how wonderful
the entire cast was!

That's about it from my neck of the woods.
Hope your weekend is a great one!

#3

As promised this is blog day #3,
and the post will be about my #3
This girl is a whole lot of sweet,
spunk and love all rolled into one.
As your children get older,
you'll notice the ever present eye-rolls,
sighing and all-around
are-these-really-my-parents? look.
So right now,
it's still nice that #3 adores us.
And the feeling is more than mutual.
The hugs, kisses and snuggles
are freely given and accepted
and I am so thankful everyday to be her mommy.

Have a great day!

Vive La France!

Yay! It's Tuesday...put another notch on my blogpost!
A lot is going on here this week,
#1 is going to France on a school trip!
Wow! Back in the day,
I think we went to a local park,
for our school trip...
times sure have changed!
She is SO excited
and has become fast friends with the girl
through the computer
whose family she will be staying with
(and the girl will be here in October)
So for any readers in France
take care of my girl,
because her Mama is very nervous!
I just know she is going to have
the time of her life :)

So let's see...
along with having to do a goofy face
everytime my 3 girls are photographed,
they also do a serious face
and here was the page it inspired:

So that's it for today,
let's try for a trifecta of posts tomorrow?
Have a great day!

Encore!

Happy Monday!
Hope you all had a great weekend-
we certainly did :)
As I wrote last week,
#2 was understudy lead in her school's play
as Belle in "Beauty and the Beast"
She was unbelievable,
voice like an angel and looked just as beautiful.
A very proud moment for us all.
I think there was 26 of us in attendance,
family and good friends.
Couldn't ask for anything more.
The entire production was wonderful,
every single child was so well cast,
the music, the costumes, the choreography...perfection :)
Hopefully, I will get around to scrapping a layout
about her star turn.
For now, I'll leave you with a photo of our "Beauty":

Thanks for stopping by and
have a great day!

My Pot O' Gold

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
Oh, back in the old days
this was the most fun holiday.
The St. Patrick's Day parade
in New York City?
Green bagels and green beer?
Doesn't get any better than that!
Now that I have kids
my idea of a tradition
on St. Patty's Day
is eating a bowl of Lucky Charms.

It was such a beautiful day yesterday,
I broke out the camera
and took a lot of photos.
Ahhhh...gotta love spring weather :)

Here's one I took of #3,
and I was completely inspired by
Beth Proudfoot's adorable project
on yesterday's American Crafts blog.

Erin gets very excited on St. Patty's Day,
she always says,
"I was named after Ireland!"
Love my little pot o' gold!

Have a great day!

Pigs Are Flying In Freezing Hell

Happy Tuesday!
We are gearing up for an exciting weekend here.
#2 has the understudy lead role
in her school's musical.
She is playing Belle
in "Beauty and the Beast"
To say we are a little psyched
would be an understatement!
I sent out a mass email to
mine and my husband's immediate family
to ask if they would like to see the show
and to my amazement almost everyone said "Yes!"
So I had to buy 24 tickets! LOL
I am so happy Megan will have
her own little cheering section.

So while editing photos the other day,
I came upon this gem.
A photo of my 2 youngest actually hugging?
And with smiles to boot?
If I didn't actually take this photo
I would not believe it happened.
Are pigs flying?
Is hell freezing over?
Nope, just a if-you-blink-you'll-miss-it-moment
between two sisters.
It was a rare, but very cute moment I caught.

It'll probably be a while before I catch
another loving moment between these two.
That's why I needed to scrap it,
for posterity, if you will ;)

Have a great day!

Skin As White As Snow

Good morning
I am in awe of #1's porcelain skin,
and since I have the world's ruddiest complexion,
it's another wonderful trait handed to her from
her Dad's side of the family.
When I saw the photo,
the only thing I could think of was
the line from Snow White that said
she had "skin as white as snow".

That's all for today,
hope you have a good one!

Moderation Is Overrated!

Good morning!
My name is Jody...
and I am a music-holic.
There I said it.
If it's something I enjoy,
I never do it in moderation.
Double stuffed oreos,
reeses peanut butter cups,
scrapping,
and even listening to music.
If I like a song,
I will listen to it
over and over and over again.
And when I'm not actually
listening to it,
I am singing it out loud
and my daughters, in unison,
are covering their ears,
screaming, "Mom...enough!"
So while blog surfing (another addiction)
recently on Cathy Zielzke's blog
she mentioned one of her favorite songs
is "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds.
I thought, what the heck,
I'll download it on Itunes.
And that was it.
I love when a song makes the hair
on my arms stand up because it's so beautiful
and this one does that for me.
It's pure heaven in 194 words.
(Yes, I counted!)
So, I made a little love note to my family,
because I am the luckiest.:

*ETA- It is the featured page of the day over at 2Peas!
How cool is that? :)

Have a great day!

Like Totally, Fer Sure!

Like, I totally made a new page...
Yes, I drove a Pontiac Fiero,
while wearing leg warmers,
and sported a spiral perm.
What you didn't see was
that underneath that puffy, shiny, black jacket
I was probably rocking
a ripped off-the-shoulder sweatshirt.
Ahhhhhhh yes, it's the 80's!
And over at W.C.S. the March gallery is up!
The theme was "No Children Allowed".
and for me personally,
98.5% of my pages are about my kids,
so this was a hard one for me.
I happened upon this ancient photo of me,
cringed really hard,
and went to work on it.
The journaling was a snap ;)

We just dug ourselves out of the blizzard of '10,
where we had almost 3 feet of snow!
We lost power for almost 18 hours
and I felt like I was on "Survivor"!
No heat + no running water (which means no flushing!),
+ no electricity = Jody in a foul mood.
Happy to say that we were one of the lucky ones
to get our power restored because
because our good friends and their kids and
one of Ryan's good friends have moved in with us
and are still without power
going on 4 days now!
Can you imagine?
Now everyone's back in school today
and I have the house to myself!
Ahhhhh...the little things :)
Have a great day!
