Peter Piper Purged A Profusion Of Patterned Papers

Hi everyone-
Today on the W.C.S. blog.
the challenge was to make a page
using up stickers you have lying around.
Lord knows I have a-plenty.
The talented Amy Sorenson posed this challenge
for us to "mix and match letters from a black sheet
of stickers, a white sheet, and one other color,
each from a different manufacturer;
find one of your oldest non-letter stickers
and use it your layout too."
So off I went into my stash,
I knew I wanted to make a page
about Ryan, her car and driving at 16.
The memory I journaled about is so crystal clear to me.
I get welled-up remembering the conversation
because I feel like it happened only yesterday...

Thank you for stopping by!
-Jody

  1. OHHHHHHHHHHH I adore this LO...it turned out PERFECT!!! Love the mixmatch of the letters!!!

I love yellow....but I also have a huge love of red....and robins egg blue!!! Both of those colors make me happy...the red inspires me to get going and the blue soothes me!!!

I want to come play in your room!!! :-)

Have a great day sweet friend!!!

  2. What an awesome scraproom! I'd go with a light blue (robin's egg is nice) or a spring-like green. I'm definitely in a spring mood.

  3. What I would do to have a scrapbook like yours! Maybe I'll win the Mega Millions and then I can have my dream home built with my dream scraproom. Anyway ... I bet green (lighter than lime green, but in the same color range) is one of your color choices.

  4. Love that little splash of yellow on the layout! Love the room in yellow too. I hear you on too much paper, why do we buy it in the first place! And then I buy MORE!

  5. It feels great to clean out stuff, doesn't it? Did you know that your scraproom is how I found your blog? My friend Jen featured it on her home design/inspiration website and linked you. I love that and love yellow, but a change could be fun. Maybe teal or a shade of gray? Mix it up with plumb accents :)

  7. I love the color green. I'm in a springy kind of mood too.

  8. Cute LO! I should take this challenge, as I don;t often mix fonts and colors in my letters. Love your scraproom! And so tidy! My space is yellow (lighter than yours I think) and I have white furniture, and red and turquoise accents and storage. I immediately thought if you are over the yellow, then go with a happy blue - sort of aqua, turquoise, Tiffany blue. Or Robin's egg as a pp mentioned.

  9. Too bad I can't enter your giveaway!... I only own like 1/8 of that pile or even less and would LOVE to bite into something new... Anyway, first I love your layout, they're always oh so perfect! And your room, well, apart that it looks great to me, maybe you could try some light pink? :)

  11. jody, oh my gosh!!! is this your scrap room? it's INCREDIBLE. can i come over and play?

i think you should go with a really soft, fresh, crisp, cool blue - like a silver blue.. and i'm also partial to sage green. blue and green are my go-to colours.

and, i think i'll do a major purge of my own papers. i own wayyyyyyy toooo much for one person!

  12. Love your room, my room is adventurine green and I love it, makes me feel creative when I come in and get time to work. You have enough white cabinets and counters to balance a bright, bold colour, go for it! Great layout on your daughter driving, I wish I had pics of my daughter driving away for the first time, many years ago, before I started scrapping. oh well, the story is still there.

  13. You did a fabulous job on the challenge! I love the LO!!!

a scraproom color? I love a pretty blue-grey. Something relaxing. Soothing. Nice to be in. (but please dont enter me in the paper receiving contest- I have a huge stack of my own that could use a good home!)

  14. I'm such a fan of your clean & simple scrapping, so beautiful. I'm in love with a very pale shade of aqua right now :)

  15. How about a shade of blue like a spring day after the rain when the world smells new and reborn, something pale and whispery, subtle and soothing!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think a cool, minty shade of green or a lovely shade of blue would be so nice. I always like getting some new patterned paper. You know, one woman's trash is another woman's treasure!!!

  17. What about light violet? So many colors go well with it as accents...you can go so many ways...put gray with it for a modern look, or orange for a POP, or green for a natural look. I would love to win the paper. I am leading a card group that donates the cards and a pre-teen scrapbook class, so I need all the help I can get! Thanks. Be sure to let us know what color you decide upon.

  18. Swoon over your room!!!! GORGEOUS!!!!! I would choose a soft turquoise/light blue color. Thanks for the chance. Fantastic LO!

  19. Totally jealous of your amazing space!! If it were me (though unfortunately it's not!), I would go with something bold like red. Whatever you decide, I wish you luck~ thanks for this opportunity!

  20. Great space! I think I would go with a light lavender. We just painted a bedroom that color and looks fantastic. Thanks for the chance to win.

  21. Hmm, I'm with the robin's egg blue or soft green votes. And paper - yikes! I just had a newspaper photograph me with papers and embellishments surrounding me (they wanted an obsessed scrapbooker!) and it was a wakeup call as to just how much stuff I have. Time for me to do a purge too - or maybe just get into a power scrapping mode and use it all!

  22. Hi, Jody - love your LO's, your room, and the chance for the paper!! For the room, I would chose a robin's egg blue or spring green - they would look beautiful against the white cabinets and make it feel like spring year round.

  23. I love the doxie photo on your blog! I think you should paint the room a shade of blue or green.

  24. I am seeing that gorgeous room in a shade of light teal - I would then distress the white cabinets - what a look! Thank you for the opportunity to win.

  25. I see a nice shade of blue. You have an amazing scrap room. I wish mine looked like yours. Good luck on the repainting process!

  26. I think it would look good in a terra cotta orange or a light sage green colors. Good luck!! I love the room!!

  27. What a beautiful room you have. I lvoe the Yellow, however for a nice change I would go with a pretty Turqouise...nice and springy!

    Thanks for the chance!

  28. What an amazing scrap room!! I am a huge fan of pale green or maybe lilac :)

  29. Cute layout! And 10 years can go by amazingly fast when you see how big your children get! (Like, when did that happen!? LOL!)

As for the scraproom (gorgeous, by the way)...aqua and pink! Kind of a 50s / retro vibe!

  30. Your scraproom is awesome! I was thinking a sage greenish also. Saw this on a design website in a laundry room and loved it!
Just what I need - PP... can't help myself though. Addicted to it! And I'm sure I don't have a lot of those, so could use something new to work with!
Loved the LO about your daughter driving!

  31. I actually love the yellow, probably because my teeny tiny scrap corner is in a yellow room (jealous of your space? Yeah, a little, LOL). I think if I was repainting, I'd probably go with either a peachy color or a nice green (not dark).

Love the LO about Ryan driving...they grow up so fast!

  32. I'm sure my husband would be thrilled if I won a huge stack of paper (that sentence is dripping with sarcasm), but I would really love to win! I'm searching for paint colors for our new house and am loving a very springy-green...not too bright, but enough to give the room lots of energy, but in a cool color.

    ReplyDelete
  33. How about a cool blue. I'm thinking of an ink color by Stampin' Up called Baja Breeze. Just a thought! By the way, it's very generous of you to share your paper stash!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love blue -- it calms me. Love your scrap space! And your layout is adorable! Thanks for sharing!

  35. What a special memory! I do not even want to think that far, my DD is only 3! I will be painting my room (in the far far future) robins egg blue with chocolate brown accents!

    ReplyDelete
  36. My vote would be for a nice sagey green. Green is my favorite color and I love just about every shade of it. Except maybe the more neon shades.

    ReplyDelete
  37. robins egg blue with some pops of red! maybe red chalkboard paint on one or two doors?? and some red accents...chair, small rug, bowls...something like that...

    ReplyDelete
  38. I would LOVE to have this room!!!

I think you should paint this room " Certainly Celery " it is a Stampin Up! color.

    :)

  39. Candee (ScrapJag over on CKMB) suggested and I havta agree - a nice cool grey. Kinda like an elegant neutral that could go different ways with different accents. Think Lime Green in the Spring ... Deep Rust/Burgundy in the Fall ... Light Blue and Silver for Christmas ... Red and Hot Pink for Valentines ... Or you could just change it up as you feel the urge. Clean and Simple!

Enter her name instead of mine - I got WAY too much paper anyway and am cruising along the digi hiway quite nicely, thank you!

  40. What a beautiful scraproom! The design and layout is so perfect and useful. With all of your white cabinets and workspace, I would suggest a light heritage blue. I love the serene look of white and blue and you can use just about any bold color accents to give it a punch!

  41. WOW! That's a lot of paper to give away! Hope I win some- I think I am a paper-a-holic. I LOVE paper. Hmm... about the color. I really like light turquoise. That's what my scraproom is right now. And I love it. An alternative color would be purple. I think that color would be really pretty with the white cabinets. Thanks for the chance to win!!! :)

  42. Jody, I love your scraproom. What a bright and cheerful place to work. Because you have those big beautiful views of the outdoors, I would suggest a soft green to bring the green from outside in to your room. My room is a light green and when my DH first decided on that color, I though it would be too overpowering in the basement. However, with the white units and door trim white, it looks great. I just don't have those beautiful views of the outdoors. Good Luck.

  43. Hello and thank you for the RAK opportunity. I can't really tell from the picture what color the carpet is - but I was thinking maybe something along the line of teal on the gray side (if that's the carpet color). Might also want to consider one dark wall and then a complementing color for the others. I don't know if your wall hangings are staying or going - that would also impact the color choice.
Again thanks! I love your space - no matter what color!!

  44. I think a light teal would be a beautiful color for your scrapbooking room. I'm a little jealous that you have a whole room -- I just have one little corner. (LOL) Thanks so much.

  47. I love your scrap room! I can only dream of one like this! I think you should go with a light aqua blue, or a pale sage or a pale lavender. My scrap room is a bright turquoise and while I love the color, it is a little hard on the eyes after a while. Thanks for the chance at the RAK! I'm busy making cards for a children's hospital and would glady put the paper to use!

  48. What a gorgeous scrapbook room and your daughters are beautiful. I vote you paint the pastel version of YOUR favorite color. If that was my room it would be a light turquoise on the walls with accents of hot pink everywhere. Love all the white...makes it look so fresh and clean!...aka Merry

  49. I think the color of your room should be a dark grayishy blue. Like Erin's eyes! She is awesome.
