Father's Day

Another holiday weekend has flown by
and as you know this one was Father's Day.
We had a quiet celebration at home,
the girls made their Dad homemade cards,
we had a nice BBQ and he opened some gifts
and they posed for pictures for me:

And from this photo,
I actually scrapped!
Before long, we will have 3 teenaged girls living in our house.
It will then be more be known as the Hormone Hell House,
but even as they all eventually grow up
and become lovely young women,
they will always be their Daddy's "little girls":

I didn't get to see my own father
because I am still recovering from
the Vegas "flu" I caught almost 2 full weeks ago.
That will be remedied this weekend,
when my parents will be here to see #1
graduate from High School.
:::biting inside of my cheek so I don't cry:::

Since I last updated,
I took Ryan to her college orientation.
She was accepted to a college 90 minutes from home,
which is better than her other choice which was 6 hours away!
She spent the night in the dorm,
while I came home because my coughing fits
were ridiculous and if I must be known,
I think she couldn't wait to be rid of me. lol

After dinner last night,
Andy and I were sitting on our front porch talking,
when we saw some deer on our property.
That isn't out of the ordinary,
as there is an abundance of deer in these parts,
but they brought along their little deer babies
who were so cute that I ran and got my camera.

They were jumping around adorably
that we couldn't help but be reminded
of this classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer scene:

Have a great day!

  1. sounds like a great fathers day to me! and that LO- oh! its just the best! im a daddy's girl myself, and I love the sentiment there.

    the deer are adorable :)

and college? really? my oldest is now a first grader, and that happened way too fast for me. Im hoping by the time he hits college age, they will have figured out some anti-aging thing for our kids ;)

    hope youre feeling better!!!!

  2. Your three remind me of my three just a few years ago. Now #2 is ready to go to college and #3 is just as tall. Yes, the house dynamics have changed markedly. They are in and out all the time. I never know if they're here for dinner or to stay the night. Sometimes we suddenly find ourselves with NO children! Very weird!

  10. You take the most most amazing photos - love all of your recents posts - you are one very busy lady. The girls are truly amazing - their photos are beautiful and yes ... as my children enter each new phrase I bite my lip in an attempt not to cry too - we just want them to be little ones again don't we.
