Mind-Boggling

It boggles my mind that it is almost August already.
I used to think that summer went by
so quickly when I was a child.
Truth is, they go by even faster
when you're no longer a child :/

I've been a bad blogger once again,
but not a whole lot is going on to post.
I did visit our local fair recently with #2,

Yes, that is my girl (on the right) not utilizing the death grip
on amusement park rides like her mother usually does:

This is more my style at the fair:

So last week, it was unbelievably hot here.
It reached a high of 108 degrees!
Isn't that a convection oven temperature?
Not anything I want to actually live in!
Anyway, as Murphy's Law would have it,
our central air conditioning decided to stop working
on the hottest day of the century.
It was comical seeing my 3 girls act like sloths
in their bedrooms from the heat.
I called my husband at work to do something
and the man knew what was good for him when he drove up
with 2 window AC units taken from his office so we could find relief.
(A repairman did come and fixed it within hours, F.Y.I.)
And as Murphy's Law Part 2 would have it,
the next day when I went to work,
the AC was broken in the restaurant I work in as well.
Try waiting on unhappy, over-heated customers.
Good times, I tell you.

So if you would be so kind, it is my turn yet again
to host the blog over at http://www.writeclickscrapbook.com/
Here is one of the pages I made for the post,
I love this photo of #2 and our Yule Dog, Sweetie:

I hope you are enjoying your summer,
wherever you may be!

  1. 108 degrees?! That's nuts. We don't have air con in our house, but we don't need it where we live. It rarely gets hotter than the mid-80s, thankfully! I feel your pain, though. I remember visiting Arizona when it was 118 degrees. That was insane!

  2. Funny, I took the girls to the carnival at Frontier Days today with our friends from Colorado and we had snow cones just before Maddie and the other tall-enough girls rode that crazy Cage of Death ride (probably not the name, but whatever). I do like thinking we're living in parallel universes : )

  3. Oh Jody, sorry to hear about your AC problems. Our AC went out in my mini van too. Love those fair pictures. Great Christmas layout. Always love seeing your designs!
