in my mother's old photos that I have been scanning.
I believe it is from the early '80s.
I love that we have this photo.

Ten years ago, that ordinary September morning,
I put my 2 older girls on the school bus,
and put my youngest baby girl down for a morning nap,
and proceeded to take a nap myself.
I was woken up by a phone call from my husband
who was at work asking me if I was watching the news.
I turned on the TV just in time to see the 1st tower implode.
I remember feeling the blood freeze in my veins.
And then I remember crying non-stop for the next week.
I did not know anyone personally who died on that day,
but I read every article and watched the news 24/7.
One memory that will stay with me always,
is the American flags that I saw everywhere I looked
and the feeling of pride I had for my country.
We will never forget...
The number of casualties will be more than most of us can bear.
Rudolph W. Giuliani, Sept. 11, 2001
What are your memories of that day?
