Fonder

So last night I decided to walk into my scraproom
and not walk out until I had created something.
It had been so long that all my confidence is shot.
Anyhow, I printed out a couple of photos I liked,
grabbed some paper and stared blankly, for a long time.
But finally while looking at a photo of Ryann and Bobby,
                                                                           inspiration hit me!
They are still going strong almost 6 years later,
both at different colleges, but have learned to make it work.
And the saying, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder"
came to mind and that was all I needed.
I broke out the Studio Calico mists I have been hoarding for months.
Not quite sure if I like the finished look,
(I am much too anal about white space)
but it is what it is.

During these last couple months I have done a couple of photoshoots,
including my first wedding!
It just so happened to be my daughters' first ever babysitter.
She had a lovely, small reception at a local Bed & Breakfast.
Here is just a smidgen of the photos from that day:

I finally got my belated 50th birthday gift from my husband last month,
a new camera- a Canon 6d!
I love that my camera store buys back any used camera/lenses
so you can upgrade, every penny helps.
Here are some favorite photos from last month:

I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder for this blog as well,
                                                                 two posts in three days!
                                                               Thanks for stopping by!

  1. You have such a good eye for composition : ) I totally hear you about the confidence being shot business. Sigh. I really need to lock myself in there too, and get back on the horse.

  3. Well, you said your confidence was shot…. no need to worry, girl. I love your layout. I've always been a sucker for white space. To me, the banners framing the photo created a lot of eye movement. Love it.

Great wedding pics too. It looks like a gorgeous venue. You gave us two beautiful couples in this post. Your photography is inspiring. I'd love to find out what lenses/settings you've been using. I just purchased my first non-kit lens for my canon. I feel I have so much to learn. But these photos make me want to practice, practice, practice!

  5. Hi Jody! Just saying hi. Love your most recent pages. I've been largely absent from scrapbook-blog-landia too but just popped in and wanted to say hi. I also got a 6D! Isn't it awesome? xoxo
